COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A Colorado Springs man has pled responsible to tried first-diploma murder of a peace officer in connection with an incident last 12 months.
Thomas James Guolee, 34, pled responsible Thursday. He changed into sentenced to 28 years in penitentiary.
The expenses are the effect of an attempted housebreaking on December 30 on Sierra Springs power in Colorado Springs. according to the arrest affidavit, Guolee tried to smash into the home of a former department of Corrections employee whereas his wife and their youngsters were inner. The document says the spouse heard Guolee making an attempt to open the garage door, after which gunshots.
Officers had already arrived on scene, and Guolee became shooting at them before he drove off. Guolee led police on a chase, crashed into one other car, then ran from the scene carrying a gun. That's when Officer Nicholas Hartbauer fired one shot into Guolee's thigh. He become then arrested.
The Fourth Judicial District attorney's workplace ruled that Hartbauer turned into justified in shooting Guolee.
Guolee is a time-honored member of a white supremacist gang known as the 211 Crew.
